San Diego Pride Leadership Academy

For Up and Coming Leaders

San Diego Pride Leadership Academy is open to anyone interested in pursuing a leadership position with San Diego Pride.This 12 hour intensive training gives the participants, a better understanding of their leadership role within the organization

The Leadership Academy is made up of training modules that cover:

• Pride's mission, vision, values, history, organizational structure and goals
• Communication Skills & Styles
• Crisis Intervention:Dealing with medical and safety Issues
• Dealing with Difficult People & Conflict Resolution
• Customer Service
• Dealing with Disability Issues
• Fundamentals of Teamwork
• Volunteer Management skills

The Benefits of the Leadership Academy:

• Better understanding of San Diego Pride and its fundraising efforts to support community organizations working on social change and equality
• Acquire advanced knowledge in event planning, production, and volunteer management
• Improve communication and leadership skills
• Qualified candidates will be promoted to lead one of 19 different committees, as openings become available
• Offers unique meet and greet opportunities with elected officials, local celebrities, and leaders in our community
• Provides an opportunity to work together, build relationships, trust, and confidence
• Provides opportunities to attend advanced workshops on public speaking, fundraising, and marketing
• Team building with other leaders within San Diego Pride
• Special recognition gifts (yet to be determined)
