San Diego Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Pride announced that AT&T will be among its primary sponsors for this summer's annual Pride celebration, scheduled for July 21-22. With more than 5,000 local employees, AT&T continues to play an important role in encouraging diversity and inclusion within its Company and throughout the San Diego area.

"We are proud to be a partner with a global company such as AT&T which supports our mission of fostering pride in, and respect for, the LGBT community," said Ron deHarte, executive director of Pride."As one of San Diego's largest and most respected corporate citizens, we're especially pleased to have them on board. Their long-standing employee organization supporting gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender employees, known as LEAGUE, is among the most admired employee organizations in American business today."

AT&T recently received the San Diego Business Journal's 2007 Large Business Multicultural Heritage Award, which honors diversity in the workplace. AT&T was also ranked among the top 10 companies for LGBT employees by Diversity Inc.AT&T's commitment to equality in the workplace is also recognized by the perfect score it received on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation's Corporate Equality Index.

Since the earliest outbreak of the epidemic, AT&T has been a staunch and generous supporter in the fight against HIV/AIDS. Having donated tens of millions of dollars to AIDS charities, it ranks among the first major U.S. corporations to include HIV/AIDS in its strict, non-disease-specific charitable guidelines.

"At AT&T, we're inspired by the spirit of inclusion and respect that defines San Diego's LBGT Pride," said Brian Gray, AT&T Director External Affairs in San Diego. "By respecting and honoring different points of view, we're better able to serve our vast array of customers, business partners and communities."

This year's San Diego Pride celebration is titled, "United for Equality." It is scheduled for July 21-22, with a Spirit of Stonewall Celebration on July 15 in Balboa Park and several other pre-Pride events that are posted on the web site: www.SanDiegoPride.org.
