San Diego Pride Launches Monthly E-Newsletter and Online Survey

Open House Scheduled for Feb. 28

San Diego Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Pride has launched a monthly e-newsletter to provide Pridegoers with updated information on events and developments for the 2007 Pride celebration. The free newsletter, sent to subscribers via e-mail, can be obtained by signing up for it on the Pride web site: www.sandiegopride.org. The web site is the top source of information for pride related events.

"More people access information about Pride online than from any other source," said Ron deHarte. "Our monthly e-news is a way to keep up with the latest information and developments about San Diego Pride."

The Pride web site also features an online survey that community members are encouraged to take. The survey can be found by clicking onto "event" and then "event survey." Organizers will be monitoring survey results throughout the Pride season in an effort to gain feedback and ideas for upcoming celebrations.

In addition to collecting feedback online, Pride will host an open house from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Feb. 28, at the Pride office, located at 1807 Robinson St., Suite 106. The event is an opportunity for the community to share its thoughts and learn more about the planning process for this year's pride celebration on July 20-22, which includes the addition of several pre-Pride events scheduled in June and July. Pride's executive director Ron deHarte, and the Pride co-chairs will be on hand to gather feedback and share ideas.

Formed in 1974, as a sponsored program of The Center for Social Services, San Diego Pride produced its first LGBT parade in San Diego to celebrate the 1969 Stonewall Rebellion on New York City's Christopher Street. The 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization was incorporated in 1994, and today brings together the skills, talents and vision of our diverse community to produce the annual LGBT Pride celebration, which last year attracted 200,000 participants to the parade and two-day festival.

This year's Pride theme is "United for Equality." For more information or to sign up for volunteer opportunities online, visit the web site www.sandiegopride.org.
