Statement from San Diego LGBT Pride Regarding 2010 Festival Emcees

            San Diego LGBT Pride extends its gratitude to TV host and celebrity fashion stylist Marcellas Reynolds and Ophelia Later of He Said/She Said for accepting Pride’s invitation to emcee the Main Stage at this year’s two-day festival in Balboa Park.

            In finalizing the stage’s non-stop concert lineup that took place on July 17 and 18, it was our goal to create an outstanding experience and unique Main Stage presentation. Though due to scheduling issues and unforeseen circumstances, a misunderstanding occurred regarding stage times and emcee responsibilities.

San Diego Pride apologizes to both Marcellas Reynolds and Ophelia Later for any and all actions that may have created an uncomfortable backstage environment. We commend the hosts for their fine performances and rousing concert introductions, which contributed greatly to an enjoyable experience for thousands of festival attendees.

It is our hope, that in the true nature and spirit of San Diego Pride, we can move forward and create an environment that promotes equality, love and peace.
