FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS & PROCEDURES

Can I bring my dog, cat, bird, lizard, llama to the festival?
No pets of any kind - Alive or Dead. Only licensed assistant animals (please bring paperwork) All of our pets are helpful but only some "count" with our permit and liability insurance.

Where does the ticket donation go?
Revenue generated through admission helps to fund the San Diego LGBT Pride programs on an annual basis and is the primary source of funds that are distributed in the community by the organization.

What accommodations are being made for those with disabilities or special needs inside the event?
The Pride Festival venue will be completely accessible to our guests with disabilities or mobility challenges. Our venue is in Balboa Park. ADA compliant restrooms are located anywhere standard restrooms are located, so they are easy to find.

Although it is impossible to keep the ground completely clear of cables, hose, and other potential impediments, 100% of the cables that are run on the ground are covered with ADA-compliant cable ramp, so that they are easy to get over. Additionally, our volunteer staff of more than 700 are happy to assist you in any way they can while navigating the venue.

San Diego County says so! It's not our rule.

Do you recycle at your event?
An event like Pride has the potential to produce a good deal of trash. Our goal is to be environmentally responsible and reduce the amount of waste to the greatest extent possible. Recycling bins are made available throughout the Festival next to trash cans. Please read the signage and place your trash in the appropriate containers.

What additional security precautions can I take to make Pride safe and enjoyable for all?
Pride is a large-scale public event. Please make sure that your valuables and effects are secure. Please do not leave bags or personal items unattended. These can be a security risk and encourage crime.

Please be careful. Don't venture around unaccompanied, especially at night. Carry a whistle and use it if you find yourself in any danger.  Report anything suspicious to the nearest member of the SAFETY TEAM or the Police. And be sure to always employ safer sex practices, should you find yourself engaging in sexual activity.  Make sure your friends know where and with whom you are playing.
