Donate through the United Way

Make a donation by participating in a United Way Write-In Campaign.  Because of our 501(c)(3) status, San Diego Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Pride qualifies for the United Way write-in option.

The United Way begins its annual fundraising drive in the fall of each year.  The United Way provides a way for many charities to obtain funds by individuals contributing a small portion of their paycheck through payroll deduction.  Each United Way chapter lists a variety of former United Way member agencies know as "Legacy Agencies" that may be chosen for payroll deductions, and since San Diego Pride is new to the United Way, our name is not provided on this list of Legacy charities.

However, you can designate San Diego Pride as your charity of choice.Simply write in San Diego Pride as your specific agency and include our address P.O. Box 34366, San Diego, CA92163.

Our 501(c)(3) non-profit status qualifies us for this write-in option and provides us with much needed funds to support our mission of fostering pride in and respect for all Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender communities, locally and globally.

Inform other employees about San Diego LGBT Pride and ask them to write in Pride as their charity of choice.  Most co-workers are eager to donate to a cause that is personally tied to a colleague.

You should reach out to other employees to let them know of the United Way write-in option to support your local Pride organization.  You may want to post a letter or flyer on the office bulletin board or place a poster in the lunch area that asks your fellow employees to join you by designating Pride as their charity of choice.
