Dear Hillcrest Neighbors,

Please take a moment to read this notice about the upcoming San Diego Pride Celebrations which will include the annual Parade and the 27th annual 5K Run & Stride with Pride on Saturday, July 19.  During the staging and the duration of the parade and 5K Run there will be several street closings and no parking areas in within the community.

  • The Pride Parade will begin at 11:00 am and staging will take place between 7:00am and 11:00am.
  • The 27th annual 5K Run & Stride with Pride take place on the parade route and start at 10:00am.(Less than 500 participants are expected for this activity.)

In order to minimize the disruption in the neighborhood during this year's celebration, San Diego Pride is providing advance information that will help you prepare for our arrival and anticipate how our presence may affect your daily routine.

Below is a list of street closures and no parking areas for your information:

The following streets will be "No Parking Zones" 4:00AM to 4:00PM:


Centre St (from University Ave to Park Blvd)

Normal St (from University Ave to Washington St)

Lincoln Ave (from Cleveland Ave to Park Blvd)

Blaine Ave (from Cleveland Ave to Centre St)

University Ave (from 6th Ave to Park Blvd)

6th Ave (from Upas St to University Ave)

Balboa Drive in Balboa Park

Evans Place (from 5th Ave to 6th Ave)

Ivy Lane (from 5th Ave to 6th Ave)


 

The following streets will be closed starting at 6:00AM to 4:00PM:


Centre St (from University Ave to Park Blvd)

Normal St (from University Ave to Washington St)

Lincoln Ave (from Cleveland Ave to Centre)

Blaine Ave (from Cleveland Ave to Centre St)

 

The following streets will be closed starting at 9:00AM to 4:00PM:


University Ave (from 6th Ave to Park Blvd)

6th Ave (from Upas St to University Ave)

Balboa Drive in Balboa Park

Robinson Ave (from 5th Ave to 6th Ave).

Evans Place (from 5th Ave to 6th Ave)

Pennsylvania Ave (from 5th Ave to 6th Ave).

Anderson Ave (from 5th Ave to 6th Ave).

Ivy Lane (from 5th Ave to 6th Ave)

 

We emphasize that street closures and changes in parking are temporary and appreciate your cooperation in using alternative parking during this time. San Diego Pride recently awarded several volunteers at an appreciation event for their outstanding, longtime service to the organization, while extending its gratitude to the nearly 700 other volunteers who contributed their efforts to this summer's Pride weekend.
