San Diego Pride may be best known for its Festival in beautiful Balboa Park and the annual Parade, however there are numerous community events held throughout the month of July that are part of Pride's Official Events program. July is packed with something for everyone.

July 10 - Aug 17

"Yank!" - A New Musical at Diversionary Theatre
Yank! is a love song to Hollywood's "it takes one of every kind" platoon flicks and to 1940s Broadway.Suffused with period songs (swing, big band, boogie-woogie), it explores what stories get told in wartime, and how WWII became the great catalyst in bringing gay men and women together.$4 off per ticket by showing your Pride Pass.

July Community Breakfast to Help Kick Off Pride Weekend

The July San Diego LGBT Community Coalition Breakfast will be a special Pride champagne brunch. It will take place on Fri., July 19 from 7:30-9am at The Center, 3909 Centre St.

A full breakfast is available for a $10 donation and RSVPs are not required. The LGBT Community Coalition Breakfast is sponsored by Wells Fargo, the Gay & Lesbian Times and San Diego LGBT Pride.

27th Annual Run and Stride with Pride

 

presented by Front Runners & Walkers San Diego - 10:00 am, Park & University - along the parade route.

Fast, flat and USAT&F sanctioned and certified 5k run and walk.

Awards to top three in each age category.

Saturday, July 19 Annual - Pride Parade

11:00am, University Ave between Normal St., down 6th to Upas

Watch the Annual Pride Parade steps off at 11 am. With over 150 floats and contingents, the Parade is the largest civic event in San Diego and the largest Pride parade in Southern California. Come join the fun and celebrate equality, freedom, and diversity in our community!

Come celebrate our freedom to marry the person we love.   This is a special time in the history of the LGBT civil rights movement and this will certainly be a Pride to remember.

In Partnership with the Pride Interfaith Committee, San Diego Pride, and the Center.

Complimentary photographs will be taken by members of the Hewlett-Packard Leadership Council.

Join us for the celebration, some wedding cake, pictures and the opportunity to hear what steps we need to take next.   Cake provided by Babycakes

June 28 to July 29 Museum of the Living Artist at the San Diego Art Institute
A San Diego premier exhibit featuring juried and awarded artwork from "outstanding visual artists" of the region. Hours are 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Tuesdays through Saturdays; and noon to 4:00 p.m., on Sundays. Admission is $3, or half price to guests showing San Diego Pride ad. Children 12 and under admitted free. Located at 1439 El Prado in Balboa Park's House of Charm

Saturday and Sunday Art of Pride
The juried exhibit showcasing works by local LGBT artists skilled in oil painting, pottery, sculpturing and jewelry making will take place during the two-day Pride festival in Balboa Park, July 19 and 20

July 21 Hillcrest Community Clean Up
Starting at 6:00am

Sign up to help The Hillcrest Town Council clean the neighborhood of Hillcrest after the Pride celebration. Volunteers help clean our city and raise funds for the Hillcrest Town Council.

Rainbow Flag Raising Ceremony

Prominent members of the community will be joined by local politicians and business leaders at a flag raising ceremony for a rainbow flag which commemorate the 30th Anniversary of the Rainbow flag and will be the official kickoff to a full month of Pride events and celebrations including the parade and festival.
